Nicholas Ukachukwu has won the Governorship primaries of the All Progressive Congress APC in Anambra State, defeating Valentine Ozigbo, who defected from the Labour Party.

Honourable Edobor Madu scored 8 votes, Honourable Johnbosco Obinna had 26 votes, Valentine Ozigbo 67 votes, and Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu scored the highest votes of 1455 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Prince Ukachukwu applauded President Bola Tinubu for the platform to contest primaries in the State. “It’s unprecedented. It has never happened. He didn’t show any favouritism which has never happened before in the history of the Party in the State. He has given us the journey to bring Anambra back to the mainstream of Nigerian politics.

“We shall deliver Anambra to the APC. One thing I want to say here, nobody has won the governorship of Anambra without my support; it has never happened before. I have been playing godfatherism, but now I want to be the father of the father, no more godfather.”
Prince Ukachukwu will be competing against the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, who is seeking reelection under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA in the November 8, 2025 election.
