Following the reopening of schools in the country, Abia State Government have started COVID-19 testing for all teachers of exit classes in the State.
The exercise which kicked off on Tuesday saw teachers in numbers at Abia State Hospital, Amachara, Umuahia.
Speaking with some of the teachers stated that the sample collection started late as many people came to the centre early but did not meet the officials until 1 – 2 pm.
“We came here early but the staff were not here. Even though the sample collection foes do not take time, it’s advisable that the authorities keep time.”
Also speaking with one of the Doctors collecting the samples stated “we are on community testing and some of our colleagues have gone to Ohafia, Arochukwu and other villages, that’s why the process started late here. But we will attend to everyone.”
Recall that schools in the country have reopened on 4th August 2020 for exit classes after the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.
