Nigerians have criticised Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje over his comment on corruption, stating that he does not have the moral justification to fight corruption.
In an inspection of the renovation work at the State’s Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters on Saturday, Ganduje said that the Buhari-led government cannot fight corruption alone and that the fight needs the input of both State and local governments.
Ganduje also stated that he will not interfere in the Commission’s fight against corruption in the State.
He was quoted saying, “Whosoever falls in the Commission’s trap should face the consequence. I will have nothing to do with it. I will not interfere with any case whosoever might be involved.
“With the way corruption is fighting back and being an agenda of President Muhammad Buhari to fight against corruption, the federal government cannot fight corruption alone, it needs domestication in the states and the local governments to succeed,” he said.

The commission’s chairman Muhyi Magaji, commended the governor for his “commitment to the anti-graft war”.
He said: “It is your will and support that has made this anti-graft agency among the best in the country.
“We have set benchmarks in the country and are being emulated by other states.”
In criticism of Ganduje, journalist Truthfully wrote, “I can’t believe what my eyes just saw, Gandollar, now a motivational speaker. Nigerian politicians, are bunch of shameless lots. A thief caught in the act, is now an advocate against corruption.
But one thing i know, no matter how long it takes, Ganduje’s file is with EFCC. ”
Other Nigerians were not left out as they argued why Ganduje should ever talk about corruption when he was allegedly caught on video stuffing dollars in his pocket in 2018.
