The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu will be travelling out of the country on Monday, 28th June 2021 to meet foreign partners over his industrialization and educational development agenda.
A press release by the State Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, revealed that Governor Ikpeazu is also travelling to ‘formalize relevant agreements on the foreign scholarship scheme which is expected to benefit more than 2,000 qualified Abia youths who will train in various skill areas starting from September 2021.’
Governor Ikpeazu is expected back to the country on or before the 8th of July, 2021 but will ‘also meet with key foreign investors in the garment and shoe industry in the state as well as engage with investors who previously indicated interest in the Enyimba Economic City Project which was temporarily stalled by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and its associated restrictions on international travels, and other global economic challenges.’
