The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 33-year-old man identified as Agbo Victor for transporting 250 parcels of Indian hemp along Kwanar Dangora, Kiru LGA, Kaduna – Kano Border, Kano State.
A statement by the spokesman to the police command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa revealed that a team of Operation Puff Adder led by CSP Hassan Nasir Jega, Officer in Charge, Highway Patrol Kano while on surveillance patrol along Kwanar Dangora, Kiru LGA, Kaduna – Kano Border on the 20th if March 2022.
Mr Agbo was driving a dark green Honda Hennessey Motor Vehicle with the 250 parcels of Indian hemp valued at one million, seven hundred and fifty thousand nairas (N1,750,000:00) packed inside the Motor Vehicle boot confessed to having transported the cargo from Edo State.
He further revealed that he was delivering the Indian hemp to one Alhaji who, on heading about his arrest, escaped to an unknown destination.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police directed that the case be transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Narcotics Section for discrete investigation.
The suspect, however, will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
