Amid the Muslim-Muslim ticket flown by the ruling All Progressive Congress, the Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has stated that the ruling class manipulates the hapless masses through religion and tribe.
Speaking through his official Twitter page, on Friday the former Minister of State, Niger Delta Affairs disclosed that the country is divided into the ruling class and the hapless masses.
“Our nation is not divided by religion or ethnicity. It is divided into the ruling class & the hapless masses who the ruling class continuously manipulate by sentiments of religion and tribe so that the masses will not wake up to interrogate their real capacities for public office.”
He made it clear that religion and drive are used by the ruling class so that the masses do not interrogate the capacities of public office holders.
Keyamo who has held controversial opinions in the past has argued that development is not tied to a ‘balanced’ presidential ticket but due to competence.
He, therefore, persuaded Nigerians to accept the same faith presidential ticket of the APC as that will lead the country to progress.
‘There’s no country in the world where history tells us that its development was as a result of ‘balanced’ presidential tickets (in terms of religion) over the years; countries developed as a result of visionary leadership and not because they pandered to some religious sentiments.’
Recall that the presidential candidate of the APC Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has chosen the former governor of Borno State Kashim Shettima who has been allegedly accused to be a sponsor of Boko Haram terrorists, as his running mate in the 2023 general election.
