The immediate past governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike has warned his successor Siminalayi Fubara against political sycophants whose only goal is to advance their interests to the detriment of the State.
A statement by the Senior Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Boniface Onyedi on Wednesday revealed that Barrister Wike said this at the Thanksgiving service organized in his honour by his hometown in Obia-Akpor to commend his services to the State.
The statement partly reads, ‘Delivering his goodwill message, the former governor noted that some politicians are very dangerous and so must not be drawn close in matters of governance.
Wike stated that he was able to survive the pitfalls laid against his administration by his traducers because he was determined and committed to serving the state.
He urged the new Governor to be wary of gossipers and mischief-makers. He advised him to remain resolute and firm in taking decisions that will impact the state positively.’
