The commissioner of police, Imo state command has called on youths of Imo state and Nigeria, in general, to shun crime and criminal activities, pointing out that crime is a venture without any gain.
The commissioner made this remark while parading suspects arrested in connection to various criminal activities at the state police headquarters Owerri.
He restated the resolve of security agencies in the state to rid the state of crime and criminality,especially that the operation Puff Addar launched by the Inspector General of police and the operation Iron gate by the Imo state government was fully in force to provide safety and security to Imolites and ensure criminals are fished out to face the full wrath of the law
“I am so glad to parade before you a total of 38 suspects involved in various crimes, ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, unlawful possession of firearms, assault/ attempted murder, burglary/ steading, baby factory, child trafficking, among others.
“permit me to use this medium to warn the youths of Imo state to avoid crime and criminality as it is a venture without any gain. I want to also warn all criminal elements to quit their criminal activities or leave IMO state entirety as the command will fish them out and ensure that they face the full wrath of the law “.
A breakdown of the suspects, their crimes and exhibits recovered from them are as follows; 16 suspects arrested for armed robbery/kidnapping and murder, 2 victims arrested over child trafficking Nine (9) suspects were arrested over cultism, conspiracy and unlawful possession of firearms, two (2) suspects were arrested over hostage/ murder.
One Obumneme Dopkpo, male aged 28 years was arrested in connection to a burglary and stealing while five suspects were over an attempted murder, assault occasioning harm and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace.
