Some journalists were taken to the Ariaria International market to check the level of compliance with traders in the market over the global pandemic.
They were taken around by the Honorable Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Abia State, Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe, PhD who joined them to monitor the lockdown order by the State government.
Ariaria International market is one of the busiest markets in Nigeria but today locked in compliance with the State government and to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the State.
Abia State has recorded two positive cases of Coronavirus in the State and a massive contact tracing has begun in order to curb the spread in communities where index cases were found.
No death has been recorded so far as the cases have been transferred to the isolation centres for treatment.
The Governor also made it mandatory that every resident must wear a face mask if they have to go anywhere at all.
