The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello, has ordered the immediate closure of all boarding schools in the State following the abduction of the students and staff of Government Secondary College.
He made this known at a press conference in Minna, the state capital, stating that all boarding schools in Rafi, Munya, Mariga and Shiroro LGAs should be closed indefinitely.
It was gathered that the attack and abduction of students started from the staff quarters and ended in the students’ hostels.
The governor said the closure was to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
