Imo State Government, Monday donated brand new Toyota Hiace buses to 19 select ministries, Departments and Agencies.
The gesture according to the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma was part of his administration’s efforts at promoting job satisfaction, encouraging performance and productivity.
Declaring open the distribution, the Governor pointed out that this was a way to show appreciation for the MDAs that are working, and encourage enhanced productivity, as well as job satisfaction among the work force.
Uzodimma further opined that the gesture was also a way to address some of the challenges faced by the MDAs in the course of discharging their duties. He however harped on the need for the state workforce to be more committed and efficient.
Some of the lucky MDAs includedn; University of Agriculture and Environmental sciences Umuagwo, Imo State Pools and Betting Agency, Imo State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Imo State Small and Medium Enterprises Agency, Ministry of Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, Imo State Waste Management Agencies.
Others were Secondary Education Management Board, Imo State Civil Service Commission, Local Government Service Commission, Customary Court of Appeal, Judiciary, Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University Ogboko, Office of Secretary to State Government ,
Still others who benefited from the governor’s kind gesture included; Government House Press and Protocol, IMSUBEB, ISIEC, Bureau for Coordination of Donor Assisted Projects and Imo Geographical Information Service.
Responding on behalf of the MDAs who received the buses, the Vice Chancellor of Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University Ogboko, Prof Ikechukwu Dozie, acknowledged the concerted effort of the Uzodimma administration in uplifting the welfare of workers and pledged increased commitment to duty.
