In a bid to bridge the gap in women ans youth participation in politics, the immediate past Special Adviser to Governor Ikpeazu on Creative Art, Culture and Tourism, Agunwanyi Chief Doris Ogala will be rolling out its door-door campaign for the election of Engr. Chinedum Orji.
In a piece written by a member of the Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Council, Eric Ikwuagwu on Thursday revealed that through the Abia Oje-Oje Youth Movement, there will be more involvement of the youth and women in politics.
Adopting the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly as their sole candidate for the Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency seat election, the Oje-Oje Youth structure whose motto is inclusive good governance for Ndi Abia, Miss Ogala opined that the Federal House of Representatives (NASS) is not a boys training ground but for seasoned legislators like Engr. Chinedum Orji has excelled in all three core duties of a legislator.
The statement reads, ‘For so long, Youth involvement in politics has been dominated by the male folk, while the ladies/girls are left out till they get older to join the women groups. Abia Oje-Oje Youth Movement is providing the structure to politically nurture young ladies and create the needed awareness for this demographic that has hitherto been looked at in the political scheme of things. Studies have shown that there are more young people than any other age group and the young people are more female than male. Also, studies have put the ladies as more dedicated, more committed, driven more by passion than pecuniary interest and more loyal than their male counterparts.

The Abia Oje-Oje Youth Movement has added the Speaker of the Abia House of Assembly as their sole candidate for the Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency seat election.
Agunwanyi Doris Ogala opined that the Federal House of Representatives (NASS) is not a boys’ training ground but for seasoned legislators like Engr. Chinedum Orji has excelled in all three core duties of a legislator as the current Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly. Speaking during an interactive season with the media, Doris Ogala said, “the transformation of the Abia State House of Assembly complex, the various human capital development programmes, his benevolence, the different Constituency projects littered across his Constituency, his ability to maintain a peaceful relationship with the executive arm of Abia State government, accessibility, humility etc places him miles ahead of other candidates for the position”.
