Insecurity: Uzodimma Gives Deadline, Vows to Use Forceful Approach

By Jennifer John

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has promised to employ a new, forceful approach in the fight against insecurity in the state.

Uzodimma made this vow while addressing; Government Liason Officers (GLOs)  and  Coordinators of the Wards, Booths, and Polling Units from the three senatorial zones of the state; Orlu, Owerri, and Okigwe, Thursday.

He berated a situation where Igbos have turned weapons against one another, using the wisdom God gave them for destruction, instead of building.

The governor enthused that it will not augur well if elections are not conducted in Igbo land during the forthcoming general elections, vowing to do all it will take to encourage and persuade Imo people and Igbos, in general, to participate in the elections.

He gave a deadline of four days, within which he said insecurity will become history in Imo State, declaring that elections will be conducted peacefully, while expressing optimism that his party, APC will win the election in peace.

The governor said the GLOs will be given the responsibility to look over government establishments in their locality, as he promised that government will undertake developmental projects in the rural areas, including renovating and equipping public schools, to take back its pride of place in the education sector in the state.

He used the opportunity to re-emphasize his promise never to disappoint Imolites.
