The Red Line Rail Service in Lagos will expand its schedule to include five-morning trips and four evening trips daily from Agbado to Oyingbo, starting on Monday, February 10, 2025. This initiative aims to increase productivity and provide maximum efficient service.
The announcement was made by the Lagos State Governor on Sunday, who stated that the arrival of three new train sets will further enhance the capacity of the Red Line and improve commuting for residents.
“Beginning tomorrow, the Red Line Rail Service will offer increased capacity, moving from two-morning trips to five mornings and four evening trips daily. This change provides better commuting options for residents travelling between Agbado and Oyingbo.

The total journey time between Agbado and Oyingbo is just 50 minutes, with reduced waiting times of two minutes at each station. The Red Line delivers efficient and reliable transportation, making daily commutes faster and more convenient.
This expansion reflects our commitment to improving mobility across Lagos. With the addition of three new train sets, we are strengthening the Red Line’s capacity and reinforcing its role as a vital part of our integrated transport system.
The Red Line is not just a train service—it’s a game changer for commuting in Lagos. We are building a city where connectivity drives economic growth and enhances the quality of life for all residents.
This is Lagos, and we keep moving.”
