Two suspects, 21-year-old Ani Obinna and 43-year-old Okwudili Ezike, have been arrested by the Anambra State Police for allegedly terrorizing the Nnewi area.

The arrests occurred during a pursuit by police operatives from Otolo-Nnewi who acted on credible information that led them to a criminal hideout in Nnewi on May 1, 2025, at approximately 1:45 PM.

According to Superintendent Tochukwu Ikenga, the police recovered one foreign-made pistol, three live rounds of ammunition, and a woman’s motorcycle that is suspected to have been stolen.
During questioning, the suspects admitted to being members of a secret cult and a kidnapping gang. They also provided valuable information that the police are currently using to dismantle their criminal network and apprehend other gang members.
