Gov Umo Eno to Flag Off 200-bed Ibom Int’l Hospital, Convention Centre, Others

As part of activities to mark his second anniversary in office, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced the commencement of several landmark projects aimed at boosting the state’s healthcare, hospitality, and event-hosting capacities.

Speaking during the May edition of the Government House Monthly Covenant Service held at the Banquet Hall, Uyo, Governor Eno revealed that his administration will soon flag off the construction of a 200-bed Ibom International Hospital, a 5,000-seater Ibom International Convention Centre, and a 200-room Ibom Hotel.

The Governor also disclosed plans for a state-wide interdenominational thanksgiving service scheduled for May 25, 2025, at the International Christian Worship Center, to express gratitude to God for two years of his administration.

A clergyman himself, Governor Eno urged religious leaders to focus on spiritual guidance and intercession for peace and progress in the state, rather than delving into political matters. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to good governance and unity.

Touching on his empowerment agenda, he called on privileged citizens to refrain from enrolling their wards in government programs designed specifically for the underprivileged. He encouraged eligible citizens to register on state-managed digital portals for access to employment and empowerment opportunities.

Governor Eno emphasized the importance of peace and cautioned against harmful speculations that could undermine the state’s progress.

The service featured a sermon by Primate Emeritus Emmanuel Udofia of the African Church, who preached on the theme “The God of Great Wonders” from Psalms 77:14–20, encouraging believers to hold fast to their faith amid challenges.

Governor Eno concluded the event by thanking attendees and wishing the people of Akwa Ibom a prosperous new month.
