Abia Govt. Appoints Board Members of Microfinance and SME Bank

PRESS RELEASE

The Government of Abia State has approved the appointment of the members of the Board of Directors for the Abia State Microfinance and SME Bank, as part of the ongoing efforts to reposition the financial ecosystem in the State and provide greater access to funding for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

The newly appointed Board members are expected to bring to the Bank, a wealth of experience and deep sectoral insight that will guide the Bank’s operations in alignment with the vision of the present administration to build a vibrant, inclusive, and enterprise-driven economy.

The composition of the Board is as follows:

  1. Mr. Friday Ndubuisi Eluwa – Chairman
  2. Mr. Isaac Chimereze Okoro – Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer
  3. Mrs. Nkechi John-Ajuga – Executive Director
  4. Mr. Kings C. Akuma – Non-Executive Director
  5. Mrs. Onyinye Patricia Ralph-Nwachukwu – Non-Executive Director
  6. Mrs. Hope Chinyere Ubani Ukoma – Non-Executive Director
  7. Mr. Onwuchekwa Okoronkwo Elendu – Company Secretary/Legal Adviser

The Board is expected to provide strategic leadership to ensure that the Bank fulfils its mandate of delivering accessible financial services, supporting MSMEs, and catalyzing economic growth across Abia State.

The Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, congratulates the newly appointed Board members and urge them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism, and full commitment to the economic aspirations of the people of Abia State.
