The Department of State Services (DSS) facility today reportedly denied Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, access to his client, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, just minutes before their scheduled legal consultation.

According to his legal counsel, Aloy Ejimakor on Monday, the respected Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Attorney General of the Federation was forced to leave the DSS premises visibly upset, raising fresh concerns about the government’s commitment to ensuring a fair trial for the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

“The DSS needs to explain to Nigerians why it blocked Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, from meeting with his Client, MAZI NNAMDI KANU. They did this a few minutes ago, & the high Chief has left the DSS facility, very upset. This is a flagrant interference with a fair trial. #Injustice,” said Ejimakor, urging the DSS to immediately explain the reasons behind the obstruction.
The DSS has not issued an official statement on the matter as of press time.
