The Department of State Services (DSS) has resolved a brief dispute over the denied access to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by his lead counsel, Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, following an earlier incident that sparked public concern over interference with legal representation.

In an update shared by Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, a member of Kanu’s legal team, the DSS clarified that the blockage was “not intentional” and has since been addressed.

“I just exited from seeing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu & the issue of blocking Chief Agabi, SAN from seeing MNK today was explained as ‘not intentional’ & thus resolved,” Ejimakor stated.
As part of the resolution, the DSS has now agreed to permit the full legal team to visit the detained IPOB leader on the following day.
The development comes after widespread backlash over the initial denial, which was seen as a violation of Kanu’s right to a fair trial and legal access.
