The Isuikwuato LGA campaign council led by Mr Emeka Ikwuagwu and the national leadership of EMEKA IKWUAGWU FOUNDATION paid a courtesy visit, today, 16th August 2019, to the Isuikwuato LGA Transition Chairman, in his office at Milano Isuikwuato.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr. Emeka Ikwuagwu who doubled as the Coordinator Isuikwuato LGA, 2019 Campaign Council and the Founder EMEKA IKWUAGWU FOUNDATION, said they were at the Council Office headquarters to identify with the Chairman as members of PDP Campaign Council and to commend him for the numerous projects that are ongoing and completed during his short stay in office. He said they were satisfied with his performance in office, which so far has set him miles apart and way ahead of whatever they have experienced with any other council Chairman in Isuikwuato LGA.
Continuing, Mr Emeka Ikwuagwu who is an Estate Surveyor, advised the council to harness the fortunes a university should offer it’s host LGA. He wondered why Isuikwuato LGA hasn’t developed beyond its present stage even with two universities. Hear him ” We should endeavour to open up Isuikwuato LGA to the outside world for more business opportunities by showcasing what we have.” He called for the full automation of securing land titles in the state to allow investors have confidence in the purchase of lands for the purposes of building hostels and other investments that thrive in a symbiotic relationship with universities. “There is a need to accelerate the process of acquiring land through the geographic information systems which also offer secured land titles. Investments in land and estates are often slowed down by the delay in processes to obtaining the C of O using the antiquated systems.
Our Governor, Dr Ikpeazu has done especially well in the area of infrastructure and commerce, health, Agriculture and education etc. The Abia state ease of doing business is top-notch, Our governor is Y2K compliant even in digitalization of our primary health and revenue collection. Abia Land business should be effectively digitalized also for maximum output and efficiency. Therefore, there is an absolute need to work on the ease of acquisition of land to open up investment in landed property and estate. The customary title holders should be encouraged to register their landed property with the appropriate Ministry, this will trigger huge investment expansion. A win-win for the state, landowners and investors. With proper handling, Isuikwuato LGA will become the fastest rising city in Abia state. I dream of the emergence of Isuikwuato megacity” he said.
Furthermore, he urged the council boss to continue with his sterling performance which is a mirror the grassroots see our Governor. He thanked the Chairman for complimenting the efforts of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, who he described as a trans-generational leader. High Chief Okechukwu Okorie, Mr Jonah Johnson and Mrs Ngozi Enwerem also spoke, they were all praises for the performance of the Council Chairman, particularly the road construction and the complete overhaul and renovation of the Isuikwuato LG Legislative Council Chamber. They begged for speedy intervention in the erosion menace currently ravaging the Local Government.
In his reaction, the Council Chairman, Hon. Chima Agbaeze thanked them for finding time to pay him this visit. He thanked them for their kind words and reminded them that he is still the Secretary of the LG campaign council. He urged them never to relax as a group but to continue enlightening the grassroots on the good intentions of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu led administration.
The Council boss used the opportunity to thank them for their efforts during the just concluded elections and expressed his appreciation to Dr Okezie Ikpeazu. He said ” when people commend our efforts at the council, I find it amusing because I am only following in the footsteps of our Governor. There is no magic in getting things to work again in Isuikwuato other than the fact that our Governor allows our allocation to get to us directly. I am confidently promising you people, projects after projects. The smiles on your faces and encouraging words from our people are the tonics needed to propel us to do even more.”
The Transition Chairman promised to carry every ward along in his project schedule. In conclusion, he said he introduced the rigid cement pavement technology in tackling the bad spot in front of the LG INEC office to give a permanent solution to the constant failing of that portion which has hitherto defiled every repair. He asked the people of Isuikwuato LGA to continue in their support for the Dr Okezie Ikpeazu led government, who through his purposeful leadership has helped him completely remodel the legislative chamber and equipping it with new furniture, including ceiling fans and other modern fittings,
* Painted the local government Perimeter fencing including the gates and kerbs to give it a befitting glow
* Stocked the Council poultry farm with day-old chicks to revive it
*Installed ceiling fans in various offices for ambient working condition.
.*Currently, fixing of street lights within the Council and various communities in “operation light up Isuikwuato LGA”.
*Extension of electricity to the Local government Corpers Lodge
*Facilitated the new Isuikwuato Area command
* Continous payment of stipends monthly to indigent widows
*Donated a large conference table to ndi Eze Isuikwuato LGA.
* Enumeration, ongoing for the free interest loan for small scale businesses.
* Appointed over 18 young people as aides to actively engage them in governance and also as empowerment.
Finally, he thanked the leader of the groups, Hon. Emeka Ikwuagwu, for his professional, advise and urged them to always bring their experiences to bear in developing Isuikwuato LGA.
