Men of Assemblies of God Church Metropolitan Assembly, Ndume, Umuahia (Jerusalem) District of the General Council of Assemblies of God Nigeria today, the 8th Day of September, 2019, honored the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt .Hon.(Engr) Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji.
The Honor was part of activities that marked the 2019 Fathers’ Day Celebration of the General Council of Assemblies of God Nigeria which held simultaneously across the Church administrative units across the country.
The Men’s President of the Church, Comrade Okoro Ogbonnaya, in his welcome address appreciated the Speaker, for identifying with Men of the Church on this year’s occasion of her 2019 Men’s Day.
According to him, “Men’s Day celebration is an annual event that takes place by this period every year. It is the time that Fathers in Assemblies of God Church all over the world celebrate our fatherhood and thank God Almighty for sustaining the men throughout the year”.
Reading the citation of the Rt Honourable Speaker, the Secretary of the Church, Deacon Ikechukwu Ichite described the person of Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji as a man that stands and believes in the emancipation of all men.
“He is a friend of the youth, he is youth empowerment personified” the Church Secretary declared.
The Men subsequently presented a Metro Award to the Speaker in recognition of his outstanding Leadership qualities.
In his response, the Speaker who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Nze Kenneth Ezeigbo, thanked the Men of the Assemblies of God Church Metropolitan Assembly, Ndume, for finding him worthy of the honor.
Speaking further, he urged Christians to allow the Word of God to make great impact in their lives.
“The Speaker is here because of the love he has for the Church.
“I want to thank the Almighty God for this Award; I want to thank the Men for finding me Worthy to be awarded. I do not take this gesture for granted.
“Going to Church is good and hearing the Word of God is also good but the most important thing is to allow the Word of God make impact in our lives” the Speaker stated.
Other aides of the Speaker who accompanied the Chief of Staff included the Special Assistant on Media to the Speaker, Promise Uzoma Okoro and Special Assistant on Protocol to the Speaker, Amb Kanu Chidiebere who is also a member of the Church.
