A motorist has been gunned down by a member of the Nigerian Civil Defense Corp at a toll gate in Abia State.
The incident happened at Umuikaa junction on Wednesday morning because of his refusal to bribe them for passage amidst the lockdown in the State.
The victim was carrying food items like rice and tomatoes without any passenger in the vehicle.
The angry youths of the community have destroyed their checkpoint and the Civil Corps members have deserted their checkpoint.
Recall that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s directive was that vehicles carrying foodstuffs should be allowed passage but they must be wearing a face mask.
