The Federal High Court (FHC) in Abuja has issued a media ban in the ongoing lawsuit filed by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, blocking all parties, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, from engaging in media interactions related to the case.
This order was given by Justice Binta Nyako during a hearing on Friday, following Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suit to halt the Senate’s investigation into her conduct. Justice Nyako emphasized that no party, counsel, or official involved in the case should participate in media interviews, including TV appearances, social media posts, or any public commentary on the matter.

According to NAN, the judge ruled for a “total media blockage,” stating that there should be no press briefings or interviews related to the subject matter of the case while it is still pending before the court.
The case was reassigned to Justice Nyako by the Chief Judge of the FHC, Justice John Tsoho, on Thursday, after the previous judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, stepped down. Justice Egwuatu had withdrawn due to claims of bias allegedly made by Senate President Akpabio, one of the defendants in the case.
