As part of activities marking the one year in office of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration, the state government has named the newly constructed World Bank-Federal Secretariat Road after incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking during commissioning and unveiling of the road, Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma said the state executive council unanimously agreed to name the road “President Muhammadu Buhari Road”.
Uzodimma said the achievements of his government, being celebrated was influenced by the sterling leadership qualities of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He appreciated the president for finding time from his busy schedule to honour the one year in office celebration with his presence through zoom.
Commissioning the road through zoom connection, President Muhammadu Buhari ascribed all human successes and accomplishments to God and lauded Uzodimma for his myriads of achievements within one year in office, especially in the area of road construction.
“I must commend the state government, under the leadership of Senator Hope Uzodimma for setting an ambitious target and within just one year in the office completing the Assumpta-PortHarcourt Road, the World Bank-Federal Secretariat Road and many more”.
Speaking, the commissioner for works, Ralph Nwosu pointed out that the Assumpta-PortHarcourt Road was in a total state of disrepair before the inception of the Uzodimma led administration, but has been constructed within one year in office of the administration.
He appreciated the governor for constructing the World Bank-Federal Secretariat Road abandoned for over 20 years which he said will now guarantee easy access for the staff of the federal government in the state, unlike before when it was a herculean task for them due to bad road.
