The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, stated that it had no reason to shield arrested former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari and others who may have been indicted in the ongoing investigation of the 25kg cocaine.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, the agency made it clear that it’s committed to the evidence-based investigation and so will not be weakened by a misrepresentation of facts.
This comes following argument which erupted after the indictment and subsequent arrest of DCP Kyari who was caught on tape bribing an NDLEA undercover official, many claimed that the arrest was a publicity stunt to stop the extradition processes of Kyari who is also wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the USA.
According to NDLEA, Kyari ignored its invitation to appear before it was in their custody and the investigation was ongoing.
