A 27-year-old Chibezie Onucha has been arrested by Kano State Police Command for transporting fake drugs from Lagos to Kano State en route to the Niger Republic.
A statement by the spokesman Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa on Sunday reveals that fake drugs were found at the shop of Mr Onocha of Sabon Gari quarters following a surveillance patrol along IBB road Kano State led by CSP Bashir Musa Gwadabe of the team of Operation Puff Adder on 2nd of April 2022.
‘On spot search at his shop, the following suspected fake and intoxicating drugs were recovered from him; (i) One Hundred (100) Packets of Rubber Solution, (ii) Five (5) Cartons of Buscomac Tablets, (iii) Three (3) Cartons of GVN Griseofulvin Tablets (iv) Two (2) Cartons of Healmoxy Capsules, all valued Two Million, Five Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira (2,560,000:00).’
During interrogation, the suspect admitted that the drugs were fake and transported from Lagos to Kano, with the intent to take and sell them in the Niger Republic.
The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi had directed for discreet investigation, after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.
