Joke taken too far Abia PDP must be called to order
Instead of addressing its major challenges after losing the 2023 gubernatorial election, which also led to the exit of its major financial stakeholders and big names, Abia PDP will, as always, continue to mock itself.
A party that is supposed to repent, but in its usual way of imposition, allegedly imposed Mr. Abraham Amah on other candidates as party chairman in a meeting that was considered a kangaroo congress. Being imposed on other candidates without any good work plan or programs to address what led them to lose control of the state in 2023, Mr. Abraham Amah has already begun to show that he has nothing to offer his party that was supposed to be reformed other than to take the party from the bottom to the bottomless pit.
A party that is supposed to become a strong opposition if it has held an impartial state congress now finds itself increasingly adrift in the ocean of confusion. Simply because a group of unreliable people allegedly were imposed on others, those who have nothing good to offer the party other than hoping to make a lot of money in the presidential primaries if someone like Atiku or Wike show interest in running for president in 2027. One of them jokingly said: I pray to be nominated as a delegate in the 2027 primaries, both for governor and presidential. At least I will develop my land in Umuahia. Abians can now see the real plans of the people who boast of returning to power in 2027. There is nothing to offer other than how to scam and embezzle the money they will make from the aspirants in 2027.
That’s their business anyway. The only slight worry some of the sane Abians will have is that they take their confusion and frustration too far to the detriment of the entire state. They have tried many means, allegedly speaking secretly through close friends of the Governor about how Alex Otti should give stipends to the opposition, but to no avail and they now resort to creating problems in the state, trying to bring down his government by coming out with something strange in the Nigerian constitution. Something they call shadow government and appointed shadow commissioners, all in the name of finding ways for Abians and Governor Alex Otti to reorganize their stupid relevance.
Can the PDP, which just left the governorship of the state after 24 years of misrule in Abia, tolerate this kind of animosity and nonsense that they want to introduce into the state? I doubt. I also doubt they would consult their party at the national level before doing so. Instead, they will ask you to Google about shadow parliament and argue that this can also be obtained in the UK and Canada. So these guys can learn about the shadow parliament as an opposition, but they couldn’t learn about good governance when they were in power for 24 years, a shame on them all. They forget that if the salary is not enough, the overtime will not be enough either. I am very sure that their evil plans against the state will not succeed. Let me ask, those who failed in government will they not fail in opposition?
If the PDP wants, it can remain dead and rotten, sane Abians don’t care. Have they not confirmed our claims that the party is dead by appointing its members as shadow commissioners, anyway that’s their valley of shadow of dead businesses. We sane Abians are only concerned about the aberration of the Nigerian constitution, which since time immemorial leaves no room for a shadow government like in the parliamentary system of government.
For this reason, it is necessary to quickly alert the federal government, police and other law enforcement agencies before these joking handshakes reach the elbow. All those who initiated the idea of declaring a shadow government in Abia State should be interrogated, mainly its ringleader, Mr. Abraham Amah, who happened to be the Abia PDP Chairman.
I also asked Governor Otti not to let this continue to remain a joke because it may usher in the creation of bad precedents in the state and the federation at large; sometimes desperate and frustrated people should not be underestimated.
