Fake Colonel Who Extort Unsuspecting People Arrested

A 31-year-old man, Harry Perry Obiajuru, popularly known as ‘Colonel Harry’, who has allegedly been parading himself as an army colonel to molest and extort unsuspecting Lagosian, has been arrested, according to a report by Guardian.

The suspect was said to have always gone out with two soldiers who posed as his orderlies. He also usually drove in cars whose plate number was concealed with the United Nations plate cover permits.
Recovered from his apartment in Shasha, Lagos, where a pump action rifle, two military camouflage caps, a sword, horsewhip and two vehicle plate covers on which were inscribed UN Officers car park permit.

Guardian reports that in February, Obiajuru had stormed a hotel in Shasha to beat four youths who refused to pay after spending four nights there. They were forced to use the hotel’s POS to withdraw N15,000 out of the N18,000 owed.
He then collected their phones and laptop in place of the balance of N3,000. However, the bubble burst two weeks ago, after he was confronted by the youths who identified him and descended on him.

He was on the verge of being lynched when policemen arrived the scene and whisked him away. During the preliminary investigation, he was discovered to be a fake military man.

Further investigation revealed that the two soldiers he usually went out with had long been dismissed from the force. 📷: Guardian
