Ebonyi Arrests Over 30 Suspected Commercial Sex Workers, Seals Guest House
The Ebonyi State Government has arrested more than 30 persons suspected of engaging in commercial sex work and sealed a guest house in Abakaliki over alleged security concerns and other regulatory violations.
The Commissioners for Capital City and Urban Planning, Hon. Richard Ugo Idike, and Internal Security, Hon. Prince Etta Uka Ude, conducted the operation with security operatives.
According to the state government, suspected hard drugs, including Colos and Indian hemp, were recovered during the operation.
The authorities also reportedly found that the guest house violated building approval requirements, prompting them to seal the premises.
The government said the facility would remain sealed indefinitely pending further clarification and compliance with the requirements of the relevant ministry.
