The Socio-Economic and Accountability Project group has asked the Senate President Dr Ahmed Lawan and the Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila to redirect the N37bn NASS renovation to States.

They said this through their official handle asking that each State of the 36 in the country and FCT should get N1bn as benefits to the country’s poorest.
They further urged that President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Finance, Mrs Zainab Ahmed to urgently implement this process.
“BREAKING: We’ve asked Dr Lawan & Mr Gbajabiamila to immediately redirect the N37bn NASS renovation fund to give N1bn to each of the 36 states & FCT as COVID-19 direct benefits to the country’s poorest; & to advise President Buhari & Mrs Zainab Ahmed to urgently implement this.”

“In our urgent appeal sent yesterday, we said: “We applaud the patriotic steps & voluntary contributions already made by the National Assembly. We now ask you to make major strides to the efforts to deal with one of the greatest threats facing the country by redirecting the N37bn.”
Recall that the N37bn is a renovation fund for the National Assembly which many kicked against as that can be used to support other sectors in the Country.
