ECOWAS Endorses Dr Okonjo-Iweala as DG for WTO

The ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government has endorsed Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for the position of Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

It stated in a statement made available to the media pointing out that since the creation of the organisation, no African has assumed the role of the DG.

It further pointed out the education of Dr Okonjo-Iweala, her vast knowledge in national affairs and her performance during her time as the Minister of Finance in Nigeria from 2003 to 2015.
