Police Arrests Two Suspects Over Illegal Firearms
The Anambra State Police Command has nabbed two suspects, 21-year-old Obiako Chukwujekwu Henry popularly known as Ajie and 27-year-old Emmanuel Echezona Ogbonna known as Oceanic over unlawful possession of a firearm in Awka.

The Anambra State Police Command has nabbed two suspects, 21-year-old Obiako Chukwujekwu Henry popularly known as Ajie and 27-year-old Emmanuel Echezona Ogbonna known as Oceanic over unlawful possession of a firearm in Awka.
According to the Police Public Relation Officer, Haruna Mohammed, a police patrol team attached to B’ Division in Awka was on a stop and search operation along millennium road on the 18th of November, 2020 around 2 pm when they intercepted a tricycle with two occupants behaving suspiciously.
‘A bag was concealed inside the tricycle and upon a search of the bag, an English made Baretta pistol with filed out breech number loaded with three rounds of .9mm live ammunition was recovered therefrom.’
The suspects who are from Umudioka Village Awka and Ikwo in Ebonyi State but resident at Ezejiaku street Umueri Awka respectively were arrested.
However, suspects are assisting the police with useful information and providing the motive for having prohibited firearms after which they will face the law.
