Police Arrest Two Robbery Suspects in Anambra State

In a statement by the Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, on Saturday, police operatives attached to B’ division, Awka arrested 20-year-old Ejike Nwogu following a distress call.
It was gathered that the suspect allegedly attacked a lady along with Stanford by Ifite road Awka at gunpoint and robbed her of her money, handset and other valuables.
“The suspect has voluntarily confessed to the crime and exhibits recovered in his possession includes one locally made double barrel gun, two live cartridges, a Cash sum of #35,000, two Radian Andriod phones, two handbags, two Sim cards, and one tricycle used in perpetrating the crime.”
“Consequently, on 12/2/2021 at about 6:30 pm, following a distress call that some girls were being robbed at Amaenyi area, police patrol team attached to Central Police Station Awka quickly rushed to the scene and arrested Chijioke Idika ‘m’ aged 29 years of NO.40 Umudioka Street, Awka. Exhibits recovered from the suspect include the robbed handset and one tricycle with Registration number MUS 01 QG. All cases are under investigation after which the suspects would be brought to justice.”
