Four female hawkers have been crushed to death by a truck fleeing from revenue collectors in Upper Iweka flyover in Onitsha, Anambra State.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck driver had a disagreement with the revenue collectors on the flyover and the truck rolled back crushing the female hawkers who were along the road on Wednesday morning.

Confirming the incident, the State FRSC sector commander who condoled with the family said the truck driver and his conductor came out of the accident unscathed and have been handed over to the police for investigation.
Recall that last year the Governor of Anambra State banned the roadside collection of revenue in Anambra State and so far the Anambra State Police Command have arrested multiple persons caught collecting revenue along the road.
