DSS Confirms Holding Yakasai, Reveals Reason

The Department of Secret Service has confirmed the whereabouts of Governor Umar Ganduje’s aide, Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, saying that he was held for investigation beyond expressing an opinion.

Yakasai has called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari over the incessant abduction of school children and the heightened insecurity in the country.

In a series of tweet, Yakasai said that the All Progressive Congress led government has failed Nigerians in delivering it’s number job, which is protecting the lives of Nigerians.

Yakasai was arrested shortly after making this opinions. The DSS initially denied holding him but have accepted through a statement issued on Saturday evening by its spokesman, Peter Afunanya.

He wrote, “This is to confirm that Salihu Tanko-Yakasai is with the Department of State Services. He is being investigated over issues beyond the expression of opinions in the social media as wrongly alleged by sections of the public.”
