There was a fire incident at the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Kano State on Tuesday, 20th April 2021.
There was a fire incident at the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Kano State on Tuesday, 20th April 2021.
This was reported by the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Kano State Prof. Riskuwa Shehu who noted that efforts to put off the fire were unsuccessful.
A statement made available by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye revealed that only the physical equipment was destroyed as the database for the voter’s registration was saved.
The statement also revealed that there is an ongoing investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.
