NCC Bans All Telecom Network in Zamfara State

The Nigeria Communication Commission, NCC, has banned all telecom in Zamfara State over the high rate of insecurity.

In a letter dated 3rd September 2021, it stated that the ban was for two weeks to enable relevant security agencies to address the security challenges in the State.

The statement signed by Prof Umar Danbatta, the Executive Chairman of NCC, also directed Globacom to shut down all neighbouring satellites that might provide a network to the State.

The shutdown will happen from September 3rd to 17th.

Governor Bello Matawalle has banned the transportation of food items from 6 pm to 6 am and also placed a ban on the sale of fuels to bandits in a bid to catch them and reduce banditry in the State.
