NYSC DG Issues New Directive to Married Prospective Corps Members

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Shuaibu Ibrahim, has directed married prospective corps members to report for orientation at their husband’s State of residence.

Speaking at a nationwide virtual address to the 2022 Batch “A” Stream Two Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, DG Shuaibu made it clear that the directive is irrespective of the States indicated on their call up letters.

According to a statement by the scheme’s spokesperson, Emeka Mgbemena, the DG added that they must report to camp with their marriage certificates, evidence of change of name in a national newspaper, and other valid marriage documents uploaded during online registration for service.

The NYSC boss said that the scheme initiated the policy to enable them to have a seamless service year.
