Police Arraign Umahi’s Opponent Okorie Over Felony, Others

The Ebonyi South Labour Party Senatorial candidate Linus Okorie has been charged to court over five counts of charges leading to the breakdown of law and order in the State.

Mr Okorie was allegedly abducted on Sunday evening by men of the Ebubeagu outfit which led to outrage after an alarm was raised by his wife.

On Monday, the Ebonyi State Command issued a press release stating that Mr Okorie was arrested over drug trafficking and not kidnapped as initially suggested.

The women of Onicha Eze community of Onicha Local Government Area of the State protested against his alleged kidnap/arrest and called for his immediate release.

Mr Okorie, who is the opponent of Governor David Umahi in the senatorial election in 2023 was arraigned at the Magistrate Court in Ebonyi State over felony, fraud and promotion of an inter-tribal war between Abaomege/Ishinkwo communities in Onicha LGA.
