The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has fixed Saturday, 15th April 2023 as the date for the supplementary election of all outstanding Governorship, National, and State Assembly elections.

The INEC had declared the gubernatorial elections held in Adamawa and Kebbi States inconclusive after the March 18 election.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Aishatu Dahiru known as Binani, scored 390, 275 while the incumbent candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ahmadu Fintiri polled 421,524.
The INEC state collation officer, Prof Muhammadu Mele of the University of Maiduguri declared the election inconclusive due to the margin of votes.
In Kebbi State, the INEC State Collation Officer Professor Yusuf Sa’idu said the measure became necessary after breaches of electoral laws. He revealed that violence and destruction of election materials played a role in the decision to declare it inconclusive.
