Shettima Decorates Newly Appointed Acting IGP

Vice President Kashim Shettima has decorated the newly appointed acting Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Kayode Egbetokun on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the State House, Abuja.

This follows the retirement of all service chiefs including the Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba whose tenure ended in March 2023, having attained the statutory age of 60, and 35 years in the Police.

Vice President Shettima decorated the acting IGP due to the absence of President Bola Tinubu who is on a two-day summit in Paris, France over the economic hardship that has bedeviled the world, especially struggling countries after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Acting IGP Ekpetokun was appointed alongside Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. C.G Musa as Chief of Defence Staff, Rear Admiral E. A. Ogalla as Chief of Naval Staff, and others.
