Fuel Subsidy Removal: 12 Million Low-Income Households to Get N8000
To mitigate the hardship faced over the removal of fuel subsidies in the country, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that his administration will pay twelve million low-income families eight thousand nairas for the next six months.

This was contained in a letter forwarded to the House of Representatives which was read out by the Speaker Tajuddeen Abbas during the plenary on Thursday.

Reports say the letter also contained approval of additional financing for the national social safety net program scaled up by the National Assembly.
Reading out the letter, Speaker Abbas expressed his support for the project which will help the poor and vulnerable cope with the high cost of basic needs.
It was also gathered that digital transfers will be made to beneficiaries’ accounts.
