The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, Delta State, declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ndudi Elumelu in the Aniocha/Oshimili Constituency at the House of Representatives as the winner of the 25th February election.

In the Monday ruling, it further nullified the election of the Labour Party candidate, Mr Ngozi Okolie as the winner citing the non-qualification and not being a member of the Labour Party during the primary election of the party which was held on May 28, 2022.

In a petition filed by the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Mr Elumelu had filed his petition, praying the tribunal to disqualify Mr. Okolie who was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
