Man Butchers Stepson Over Food, Says He Can’t Feed Another’s Child
A 50-year-old man Ibrahim Adamu has been arrested by the Jigawa Police Command for allegedly butchering his 4-year-old stepson with a sharp object in Unguwar Dinya village, Roni LGA of the State.
A 50-year-old man Ibrahim Adamu has been arrested by the Jigawa Police Command for allegedly butchering his 4-year-old stepson with a sharp object in Unguwar Dinya village, Roni LGA of the State.

It was gathered that the deceased victim Salmanu Umar was seen with a deep cut on his throat which led to a distress call to the police who stepped up and took him to the hospital but he died while receiving treatment.
Confirming the incident, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam revealed that an investigation was launched which led to the arrest of the suspect who happens to be the stepfather of the deceased.
According to the statement, “On 8/8/2023 at about 2130hrs, ugly information was received from Unguwar Dinya village in Roni LGA of Jigawa State, that at about 1942hrs, a four-year-old boy Salmanu Umar was seen covered with blood with a deep cut on his throat.

“On receiving the report, a team of detectives led by Divisional Police Officer, Roni Division, rushed to the scene of the crime and conveyed the victim to General Hospital Kazaure for treatment; he later died while receiving treatment.”
The suspect confessed to the crime and disclosed that it wasn’t the first he has tried killing the boy over continuously feeding him and stated that the deceased’s mother intervened and reported him to his in-laws.
DSP Shiisu revealed that the suspect has already been arraigned in court.
