Uzodimma’s Signature Projects Will Guarantee Second Tenure – Nwoha

By Jennifer John

A former Speaker, of the Imo State House of Assembly and now the federal Commissioner, representing the South East in the National Assembly Commission, Rt. Hon. Amaechi Nwoha has posited that the three signature road projects delivered by Governor Hope Uzodimma are enough to guarantee any seating governor reelection anywhere in the world.

Nwoha made this assertion while fielding questions from newsmen after the Orlu zonal stakeholders meeting and grand reception for the governor, at Nkwerre, on Saturday

He said, “There is clear evidence of quality, people-oriented work in Imo, despite the security situation. There is clear evidence of good jobs being done in Imo. The three signature projects the governor has completed are sufficient by any standard to guarantee any person in that position a second tenure anywhere in the world.

“For the fact he completed those three roads, the length and importance of the roads, and how much Imo people had suffered on those roads. Irrespective of the numerous things he has done, to me these three key road projects: Owerri -Orlu Road, Owerri -Okigwe Road, and Owerri -Umuahia Road stand out. With them, there shouldn’t be any debate whether he qualifies to go for a second term or not”.

The former Speaker said the reception was meant to show that the zone where the governor comes from, is behind his ambition to serve Imo State for a second tenure.

He described himself as a firm believer in the charter of equity which Governor Hope Uzodimma is championing, given instance he strongly supported that power should rotate among the three zones of the state, after Governor Achike Udenwa’s eighth year’s tenure, when he was a member of Imo State House of Assembly.

“I am a fan of equity, I believe in the charter of equity”.

He posited that APC would win any election in the state, describing Imo as the number one APC state in the South East.

“Our party is in a better position than any of the other parties. When you put every index of measurement together, you find out that APC is a shoulder above other political parties in the state. The governor has done well. He needs another four years to consolidate his achievements.
