About twenty-four students of the Federal University of Gusau in Zamfara State were kidnapped by bandits in the early hours of Friday at about 3:00 a.m.
The gunmen invaded the female hostels in the Sabon-Gida community of the Bungudu Local Government Area of the State, housing the students.

At least three student dormitories were raided and all of the students in the hostels were taken away by the armed men.
Zamfara has been the hotspot for bandits who kidnap for ransom. Several efforts to stop the activities of the bandits in the State have failed as the bandits have refused to honour the agreement with the State government.
