Tear Gas Fired as Crisis Rocks Rivers Assembly
Tear gas was fired at the Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday morning over an alleged move to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara by the loyalist of the former governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Tear gas was fired at the Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday morning over an alleged move to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara by the loyalist of the former governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The House Members were seen leaving the fire-ravaged Assembly complex when the tear gas was fired.
Meanwhile, the House Members also removed the majority leader of the House Honourable Edison Ehie in 23 votes to nil.

Officials of the Fire Service were seen in the early morning of Monday putting out a fire in the Assembly, an inferno for which the cause is still unknown.
