Breaking News: Gunmen Attack Residence of INEC Electoral Commissioner
Gunmen attacked the residence of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, of the Independent National Electoral Commissioner, INEC, around 3:30 am on Friday 1st December 2023 in Lokoja, Kogi State.
Gunmen attacked the residence of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, of the Independent National Electoral Commissioner, INEC, around 3:30 am on Friday 1st December 2023 in Lokoja, Kogi State.

It was gathered that the armed men engaged the security personnel in a gun battle for over 30 minutes until reinforcement arrived.




Luckily, no life was lost but properties belonging to the commission were destroyed while INEC called for a thorough investigation into the attack which occurred a day after a mob besieged the State office.
Meanwhile, a team of combined security personnel have been deployed to protect the residence and enhance security protection for INEC personnel and assets in Kogi State.
