Hoodlums disrupted the court-ordered rerun election in Enugu South 1 State Constituency and destroyed the election materials on Wednesday 14th February 2024.

It was gathered that the hoodlums also stopped voters from casting their vote for their preferred candidate.
According to the statements made by the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, its operatives have been evacuated with assistance from the security agencies.

‘In contrast, the supplementary election in the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency of Taraba State is unfolding peacefully across three Local Government Areas.’
On the 3rd of February 2024, INEC canceled rerun elections held at Enugu South 1 State Constituency over the incidence of thuggery and falsification of results.
The elections were suspended in all eight Polling Units where the original results sheets were not available for inspection by voters before the commencement of polls in Enugu South 1 Constituency.
