The Government of Qatar has rejected a proposed Business and Investment Forum between the State of Qatar and the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Investment Promotion and Protection which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was due to embark on the 2nd and 3rd of March, 2024.

In a letter communicated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja on Thursday, it stated that its commerce and industry minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani has official commitments and so will be unavailable for the proposed visit.

“The State of Qatar will be hosting a web summit during the suggested period and the state’s authorities will be preoccupied with this event,” the letter indicated.
However, it did not specify a convenient date and time to meet with the Nigerian leaders.
